  1. Can I do anything with my copier when I get a “call for service” code on the display?

You can first try turning off the main switch and then restarting the machine. Many times this simple reset procedure can solve minor problems. If the code re-occurs, then call KOPI so that a technician can be dispatched.

  2. Can anything be done when I cannot print from my computer to my copier?

Many times errors in the computer will cause print jobs to not print. You can clear your print queue of any jobs which did not print, or re-start your computer to reset any computer errors.

  3. I get lines on my copies when using the ADF. Is there anything that I can clean to solve this problem?

Many newer copiers have a small glass to the left of the main copier glass which is used by the ADF. When this gets dirty it causes lines on the copies. You can clean the glass with a soft cloth and glass cleaner.

  4. Can I make copies with the “add toner” light on?

Most copiers and printers will shut down when the toner light is on. It is important to keep extra toner in stock. The best way to do this is to call K-O-P-I when you add your last toner. This will prevent any unnecessary out of toner situations.

  5. When I call for service, how long do I have to wait before a technician arrives at my office?

K-O-P-I’s response time is normally 2-4 hours.

  6. Do you lease office equipment?

Yes. K-O-P-I leases equipment, through K-O-P-I’s in-house leasing program, and also through third party leasing companies.

  7. If I lease equipment from K-O-P-I can the maintenance agreement be included with the lease payment?

Yes. Your maintenance agreement can be included with the lease payment, allowing your business to write only one check instead of two each month.

  8. Over the years sales people keep telling me that my old equipment is obsolete and has no value for trade-in. If I lease from K-O-P-I does my leased or purchased equipment have any trade-in value after I have used it for 3, 4, or 5 years?

Yes. Your equipment when leased or purchased from K-O-P-I, has an obsolescence guarantee. On a three year basis, your trade value is 40% of what you paid, and on a 4 year basis, it’s 35% of what you paid. The trade values only apply to equipment purchased from K-O-P-I and upgraded with K-O-P-I.

  9. Does your company have a warranty guarantee?

Yes. K-O-P-I has an 8 year replacement warranty on new equipment purchased or leased through K-O-P-I.

  10. When I call you, who will I talk to?

When you call K-O-P-I, you get a live person to speak with, no computers or voice mail. And you will be talking with someone local, not a person in another state.

  11. Is it customary for your company to contact me to purchase supplies?

No.  KOPI will never call you to sell supplies.  This practice is made by “Toner Pirates” who are scam artists.  Their main focus is to sell you inferior overpriced toner.  “Toner Pirates” generally call pretending to be from our company, asking you to “verify the make and model of your copier/printer”.  After they have obtained these details, they will later call back and ask for the person in charge of purchasing, in which this is their opportunity to coerce you into purchasing.  They persuade an unsuspecting person to purchase at a reduced cost due to upcoming price increase, encouraging them to “stock up” on the supplies. The final call is to verify and confirm the order. Those who have fallen prey will get a very big surprise! The price can be up to ten times higher than the normal price, the product inferior, or half the amount typically in a cartridge.

    What to do if contacted.
